Adults and seniors will be a focus of the National Reading Movement, which will be launched later this year, Minister of Communications and Information Dr Yaacob said on Monday (Apr 11). He also announced that National Reading Day will take place on Jul 30.
SINGAPORE: The National Reading Movement will be launched later this year, said Minister for Communications and Information Dr Yaacob Ibrahim in Parliament on Monday (Apr 11) as part of the Committee of Supply debates.
Announced after the President's Opening Address for the 13th Parliament in January this year, the movement aims to create a vibrant reading culture here. To do so, the National Library Board (NLB) will focus on three priorities for the Reading Movement, said Dr Yaacob:
